This sharing session will demonstrate a flipped approach to engage students in pre-class reading, using web based social annotation tool in a FYP preparation course. The pedagogical approach and the impact on student learning outcome will be explained. With the support of asynchronous collective learning in the discussion context, social annotation transformed students’ solo reading experience into peer to peer teaching, and revealed areas of misconception for instructors for adjusting teaching strategies.
